By day, I'm practicing law. By every long weekend, delayed connection, and hoarded PTO day, I'm somewhere I probably shouldn't have booked a flight to. Layover Lawyer started as a joke my coworkers made about how often my out-of-office was on. It turned into the thing I actually look forward to writing.

I don't write "top 10" listicles I've never tested. Every post here is a real trip, a real mistake, or a real win: from arguing my way onto an earlier flight to figuring out how to see a city properly in the six hours between meetings. If you've ever tried to build a real life around a demanding job and a plane ticket, you're in the right place.

This blog is also the opening argument for something bigger: a travel-planning business for people who love to travel but don't have the bandwidth to plan it themselves. More on that on the services page.

The Record

A timeline of the evidence

Year One

Passed the bar, packed a bag

Started practicing full-time, and started saying yes to every trip that fit around a court calendar.

Year Three

The layover that changed everything

A missed connection turned into eleven unplanned hours in a city that became a favorite, and the reason this blog exists.

Year Five

Friends started asking for the spreadsheet

The trip-planning docs I built for myself started getting passed around. Turns out other people wanted the system too.

Now

Layover Lawyer goes public

Writing the blog, building the playbook, and getting ready to open the doors on a real travel-planning practice.

Closing Statement

Travel like you've got somewhere to be, because you do.
